Queen of Peace
Junior Legion of Mary
Holy Family Parish Te Atatu
2012 -2018
Meets 10am Every Saturday in the Bugler Centre.
The Junior Legion is a serious Prayerful group
quietly doing Our Lady’s work.
Who can join the Junior Legion?
Any Catholic who has received their first Holy Communion and is under the age of 18. Around 8 – 17 years of age.
Why join the Junior Legion?
The Junior Legion gives young people a strong foundation in the Catholic Faith, and a good prayer life.
The Legion teaches commitment and provides the young with a strong work ethic, both inside and outside the church and good Catholic friendships.
What do we do?
Our Meetings consist of praying the Full Rosary, a spiritual reading and a spiritual talk, work assignments and all the legion prayers. Fr Jeremy is our Spiritual Director and attends our meetings.
Everyone in the Junior Legion has to attend the weekly meetings. They are given a full hour of work per week and have to pray the Catena Prayer every day.
Outings and social events?
We have regular outings, movie nights, shared meals, and events with other parishes. In 2017 we had several shared meals, 3 movie nights a trip to long bay to celebrate 5 years since the juniors began, Junior Legion day celebration! a pilgrimage to Tyburn Bombay and our yearly retreat at the Franciscan Friary.
So far in 2018 we have already celebrated our 300th meeting.
